We held a successful Reflection & Scaling Workshop under the Strengthening Fresh Food Markets for Healthier Environments project, focusing on enhancing and scaling solid waste management solutions within market spaces.

The workshop brought together key stakeholders, including representatives from the Chilenje Market Committee, Lusaka City Council, GIZ Zambia, Lusaka Integrated Solid Waste Management Company, and Madam Sylvia Banda of Sylva Catering. Each contributed valuable insights as we reflected on the progress made at Chilenje Market following the official project launch.

Discussions focused on the way forward, long-term sustainability, and the potential to scale these innovations to other markets across Lusaka. The workshop emphasized continued collaboration, strengthened ownership, and expanding the successful models of waste management and market improvements introduced at Chilenje.
