It was a pleasure to welcome David Still, Project Manager from Partners in Development (PID), to Lusaka for a project visit under the FSM Action Research Project. He was accompanied by Kyliana Gailitis, a Graduate Student from the University of Colorado Boulder.

During the visit, Dave had the opportunity to observe field activities and engage with the project team to better understand the progress being made in Lusaka. The programme included demonstrations of the technologies being tested under the project—Improved Manual Emptying, the Pitvac and the PuPu Pump during live pit-emptying operations carried out by Chimvano Nchabwino Services across peri-urban communities.

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss implementation progress, share experiences from the field, and reflect on the lessons emerging from the research as the project continues to generate evidence for improved faecal sludge management service delivery.
